Host Responsibilities
To host a foreign national at SLAC you:
- Must be a DOE federal or SLAC employee
- Foreign National Employees from Countries of Risk (COR) are restricted from hosting assignee, employees and non-employees that are from COR, State Sponsors of Terrorism (SST) and Sensitive Countries List (SCL).
- Foreign Nationals from SST countries cannot host.
- Must confirm and complete HFN: Hosting Foreign Nationals at SLAC training.
- Must possess the technical competence necessary to understand the activities to be performed by the foreign national they are hosting.
- Hosts of foreign nationals have certain responsibilities before, during, and after assignee or assignment. Some of these responsibilities include:
- Notifications to VUE center team of changes in immigration status, areas to be accessed, or assignee and assignment end dates.
- Return of badges and equipment upon completion of assignee or assignment.
All hosts are required to complete course HFN: Hosting Foreign Nationals at SLAC on an annual basis and are responsible for keeping the course current. The course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and outlines more specific hosting responsibilities at SLAC.
